Apologies if this is staring me right in the face!?

I'm customising my one click screen and noticed from photos I saw, that someone has coloured the background a shade of blue. It's the column which shows the number of the horse. I like it as it highlights the numbers quite well.

If anyone could advise me on how to do this it would be greatly appreciated.
