Is there a shortcut option that refreshes the list of markets in the 'Select' tab?

Betfair asked us not to allow people to auto-refresh the market tree list. I think this is still the case, but will check.

You could use auto hot keys to perform a click for you on a predefined time basis as a workaround.

Thanks I will take a look at AutoHotKey.

I know BF didn't allow automated refresh but didn't know shortcuts were similarly prohibited.
