Seems to me that any ordinary folk that elected to stay put and board their windows, or put down sandbags, were taking a big gamble. Detritus at over 100mph is a very destructive object. Let's hope the damage isn't too great. What would you do if you didn't have one. Leg it up the road with a million others looking for a hotel for a few days and then return to carnage. It boggles my mind.

There was a stark warning from a top official: people ignoring the warning to leave home in one of the critical areas are in their coffin and should write the name on their arm, so emergency workers will know where to return their bodies!
I genuinely wish them well.
