I have created a scalping bot. It will run on one selection for each market and anything from 10-30 markets at any given time.
So my question is, does Betfair still have trading limits per hour? Will I likely hit them and if so what are the consequences?
Thanks in advance.

5000 in any hour. Extras cost 0.2p each but any commision you pay during that day is used to offset the cost. 'transactions' are bet placements and cancellations.Tiger wrote: ↑Wed Apr 16, 2025 2:48 amI have created a scalping bot. There is now a condition under "stored value condition" type called "the Betfair Transactions this hour" that you can use to make sure you never go over the 5000 limit.

If it's profitable then why restrict it? They're only 0.2p each and that's only for those after you've used your commission. So if you paid £10 in comm throughout the day then that's an extra 5000 to use any time. Eg 5 hrs at 6000 or one at 10,000 for free.
So if my scalping strategy is profitable then it will be offset by my commission on that market and it won't cost me anything? Have I understood that correctly?ShaunWhite wrote: ↑Wed Apr 16, 2025 5:31 pmIf it's profitable then why restrict it? I may not even hit the limit very often if it's reset every hour, some hours will be much busier than others.

Thanks for this. New info to me. Is this roughly accurate now (BF used to use the older definition of tx)?jamesedwards wrote: ↑Wed Apr 16, 2025 3:13 pmThere is now a condition under "stored value condition" type called "the Betfair Transactions this hour" that you can use to make sure you never go over the 5000 limit.

Haven't used it myself so can't vouch for the accuracy.Anbell wrote: ↑Sat Apr 19, 2025 12:06 pmThanks for this. New info to me.
