Going to be a Reform smash-up! I just hope my fantastic local councillor of 20-odd years' standing doesn't get replaced by some neanderthal geezer just because joe public thinks Starmer is a clown.
From a trading perspective, you've got to think Reform they will be clear favs for the next general election by the weekend? I've backed to lay...

Was one in Scot last week (council) & turnout v low 20% ish so cant read much into it but reform could be one of the few parties with voters motivated enough to actually vote. (think they came 3rd to labour & tories toast)
(although very little in it)

Dominated by "protest" votes and the momentum that Reform has is my guess although there seems to a big expected uptick in tactical voting...
Can't see it myself..(loads of tactical voting that is)...

Why do you think it's acceptable to be so offensive?
You might consider that not everyone one here is a right winger. Stick to intelligent debate about a tradable market and leave the whining and unpleasantless at the door.
It's a shame the mods are more interested in blocking spam than maintaining a civilised environment.

There it is. Reform are currently the favourites for most seats at the next General Election.

There is a place for posting political "opinions" but in general we are trying to focus on "trading" aspects as the threads become toxic quite quickly and can drive people with genuine trading insight away.Emtaxx wrote: ↑Fri May 02, 2025 12:41 amWell I can see how someone would take offence, however also not my problem that would offend someone
It’s just my belief, it’s what I see happening, it’s an opinion. There’s a post been made here for politics so it’s freedom of speech, surely that’s a positive thing for a forum?

I wonder if this Reform local council takeover could actually shoot themselves in the foot in their quest for national power in 2029?
It may expose the, presumably, huge capability and experience issue in the party. And if their new councillors are all crap, it might make people think twice about electing them as MPs. Plenty of time for it to all unravel.

That describes most MPS in my opinion. Remember, you don't need any qualifications or training to be an MP, no interview, nothing. You rock up, spout a load, and get elected if the wind is with you.
We had a Lib Dem MP elected in my region by a few hundred votes. She has no experience of anything and is entirely useless. During the general election, she was evasive and couldn't answer simple questions about her background or experience. She will not retain her seat at the next election. By then, she will have pocketed £500k and not achieved anything for the region.
Nice job if you can get it!
I'm not convinced of how the system is run and how decisions are made. I think that reflects the views of a lot of people and why we see this see-saw in politics.
