I think the Betfair guys at Southwell said stalls starts use gate sensors, and flag starts are done remotely from the TV pics? I'm not 100% sure on that but it might jog a memory. And I can't remember what the contingency was if there's comms or vid failures.
As of 11pm last night, Murray Bridge & Ipswich horse races in Oz were not available to load into Guardian.paspuggie48 wrote: ↑Sun May 11, 2025 12:31 pmMy recent bugbear is markets being loaded late by BF.
However, yesterday I waited until 10pm last night and Hobart & Port Augusta were still not available (both meetings were on).

That's 4 meetings in the last week that have been really late to be available in Betfair![]()
We create our markets using fixed odds provided by the TAB, usually the day before the race. The last couple of days the TAB have not provided any fixed odds until the day of the race for a couple of meetings. Today this happened with Ipswich and Murray Bridge for example.
The good news is that it shouldn't be a regular occurrence as generally the TAB will have their odds up the day before, though this is out of our control.

In all the years I've been downloading the markets into Guardian I've never seen it as bad this Bobbobalski wrote: ↑Thu May 15, 2025 2:11 pmI can't see them finding a solution tho. None of the corporate bookies post prices until the TAB fixed odds are up, so I'm not sure where they will get prices from if the TAB are a bit tardy??
Don't get too hooked up on any WA markets being slow. This is a big country and WA is 5 hours away by plane from Syd/Melb/Bris and 2 hrs behind (3 hours in our summer) so there prices will always be a few hours behind the East Coast tracks...

Betfair guys have told me all market management is done manually with a bloke watching a stream. Somewhere between the two lies the truth...ShaunWhite wrote: ↑Mon May 12, 2025 9:05 pmI think the Betfair guys at Southwell said stalls starts use gate sensors, and flag starts are done remotely from the TV pics?
