Hello, im new to trading but have understood the concept for many years. I am from a matched betting background and have dabbled in horse trading with low £2 stakes recently. Its going ok but i would like to know if theres anyway of having a bit more information to hand to predict the movement within the market? Should I be looking at what experts pick as the winner? Should I have the race on in the background? Should I start buying the racing post?.

Any tips would be much appreciated. I have just been made redundant so this something I can give 100% of time too for the seeable future.

Thanks
Chris :)

What timeframe do you expect to trade over?
Looking at sentiment (ie who fancies what) might point to some long term picture but if you're nipping in and out in the last 5 mins then it's just about supply and demand, aka order flow. Betfair TV is always a good idea to see when they're loading and if the commentary highlights something you think punters will respond to.

But everyone has their own way to do this and I'm sure others will have advice too.

You don't need to predict the direction to trade: -

There are lots of Betfair millionaires on this forum, and plenty of long-term users who are heavily in profit. That's part a function of Bet Angel, having been around for so long.
