We create our markets using fixed odds provided by the TAB, usually the day before the race. The last couple of days the TAB have not provided any fixed odds until the day of the race for a couple of meetings. Today this happened with Ipswich and Murray Bridge for example.
The good news is that it shouldn't be a regular occurrence as generally the TAB will have their odds up the day before, though this is out of our control.
I know, I know...I said I was going to drop this, but...
I contacted Betfair again and questioned why (as per their response above) the Exchange markets need TAB fixed odds so they can form their markets. I mean, Betfair form the markets and put in money at 1.01, 1.02 etc and then it's traders/punters who then offer the prices, right?
So, I asked again and their response changed, it is not because of TAB but because of their "Trading Team". They couldn't explain why it's been OK for years and now it's suddenly changed.
Bear in mind, for years all Oz Horse races for the following day would have been available to add to Guardian by around 10am GMT. As of 10am this morning there are 7 Oz Horse racing meetings missing for tomorrow.unfortunately this is the traders decision and the information given to you would be what the traders inform us, so unfortunately there is nothing we can do from our end however they have been informed
I for one use Guardian to download the races for UK, FRA, RSA, US and AUS/NZL to get the data in advance at which nothing can compare with Guardian's capability to do this !!
Therefore, in respect of Betfair's response it looks like 1-2 Oz horse racing meets per day will not be available to add to Guardian in future early in the morning GMT or probably not before midnight, even more at weekends. For tomorrow alone its over 50% of meets and I definitely am not staying up past midnight to wait

...and that means missed opportunities.
Alas, it looks like the landscape has changed
