If you are a Bet Angel user, the Bet Angel one.
I once asked somebody to work on some back-end web stuff, and, incredibly, he saw what I was doing and set up trading servers! Excuse the expression, but what a wanker. I wouldn't trust them one bit. It looks like they have given up now, anyhow, as the site spec is out of date.
I hope you don't mind me removing the link to that site as it's a real scumbag thing to do.

Co-location is a specific term that means your system is running in the same building as the exchange (betting or financial) and it's done for transmission speed. A vps is a remote computer that can be anywhere, either co-located or not. The reason for using one of those is the 247 operation which doesn't tie up your own pc or rack up the electric bill. Not all vps are created equally, they might be faster or slower hardware, and have a faster or slower connection to the exchange.
But 'Co-location' uses a vps, but one that's as physically close to the action as possible.

If you're trading manually then you don't need a vps. If anything it's detrimental as your key strokes get sent to the vps to be processed rather than just being processed locally at home. A vps is great though if you run auto for long periods and your interaction isn't necessary.
But if you ask for a suggested vps on the BA forum, you'll not surprisingly be pointed at the BA VPS, and for someone to recommend another wouldn't really be the done thing. Let's just say different people use different VPSs for different reasons. The benefit of the BA VPS is that you'll get more help setting it up whereas if you used another such as AWS then you're on your own.

Ty. I try.
Solid, no nonsense and functional vs exotic, flexible, but higher maintenance. Choosing a VPS is very much like choosing a wife I suppose.
