We all know that the starting time of a tennis match is a factor of the finishing time of the previous match and the weather so I just wondered how people handle the actual start time of a match in automation? I can't see an obvious way to do it other than to jump a few seconds in-play.

There isn't an easy way to do it, as it's slighly random. The only guidance is get is 'Not before HH:MM'. So I just detect when it's gone inplay.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking ... thanks Peter.

Could you look for the first point been scored? Wouldn't matter if it was early or late then.

I don't do tennis, didn't realise they turned in-running.

Yes, you could Shaun but the 'in-play' condition would be immediate and I think easier but thanks for your suggestion. It just makes a mockery of "before start" and "after start" settings.

You can't rely on turned in-play if you look at challengers, a number of these get turned in-play either at the specified start time or when they start doing the warm-up.

The suggestion for first point would be the best option but I don't automate it, and it's my primary sport but am purely manual with my actual entries and exits
My rules just notify me of a certain scenario coming up and then when the scenario occurs

Thanks for your input Paul but I don't understand what you mean by "challengers" ... could you expand please.
