I would say this is almost certainly no. They would lose control of revenue because they would have no idea what you are going to do in terms of profits. I still think they will pay a referral fee and that is it.pdupre1961 wrote:My question is: "Does anyone make money on me losing OR winning on Betfair?"

That could prove very profitable if you got lucky. You probably won't make anything for now but in the long term if you hit upon a few good customers and you could make a mint.Euler wrote:I can tell you we didn't get a make anything out of the link so far though!
I wouldn't mind getting 25% to 35% of what I fork out to BF each year and there will be others who pay a heck of a lot more! Imagine hitting on the next Peter Webb and getting a 25% to 35% share of what they pay - you could stop trading yourself and just live off that

The guy I mentioned earlier in the thread said he ended up with a few high rollers (this was with bookmakers not exchanges) and was getting a % cut - can't remember exactly how much he told me he made in one year from just a handful of clients but let's just say my eye watered when I heard!

Totally unrealistic according to what I have seen. I'm not aware of any affilaites that have benefitted to that scale. I don't believe that you could get comissioned that much as a % any how as there would likely be a clawback in that figure or other restrictions limiting your payout. If somebody is out there with that sort of deal then I think I need to get on the phone!

Betdaq define NET revenue as...
Probably why Peter gets eff all.
So in other words, 25% - 35% after numerous costs have been taken out."Net Exchange Commission" means total commission generated by BETDAQ from exchange betting via the http://www.BETDAQ.com and http://www.BETDAQ.co.uk internet sites less adjustments made for any deposit charges, credit card charge-backs or any other reversal of a payment, fraudulent or otherwise voided or modified transactions, bad debts, the cost of any promotional offers (including but not limited to any sign up bonuses and free bets), payments to any sporting bodies (including but not limited to any football governing bodies, British Horse Racing Board and the Irish Horse Racing Board or any similar body in any jurisdiction) and liability to any betting duty or licensing fees for data or other duty, tax or expense that may arise;
Probably why Peter gets eff all.

Just to clear up any confusion, as I said earlier:Euler wrote:Interested to hear some have been offered good deals though, sounds like I need to speak to Betdaq and Betfair.

If you're not on the best deal already, what hope does anyone else have.Euler wrote:Interested to hear some have been offered good deals though, sounds like I need to speak to Betdaq and Betfair.

To answer your original question Paul, it looks likely that the service you are using probably does get a backhander from the exchange and is profiting one way or another from using their 'free' service.pdupre1961 wrote:My question is: "Does anyone make money on me losing OR winning on Betfair?"

Maybe, some of these arbitrage/bonus bagger websites are making a fortune then. Because newbies cashing in on the bonuses will be aiming to lose ALL their money at the bookmakers and win the Lays at Betfair.andyfuller wrote:The guy I mentioned earlier in the thread said he ended up with a few high rollers (this was with bookmakers not exchanges) and was getting a % cut - can't remember exactly how much he told me he made in one year from just a handful of clients but let's just say my eye watered when I heard!

Based on my own experiance I wouldn't think there was much money in this sort of thing. I guess it depends what you define by "much money". You may get rewarded for bringing new business to the mix but not old and I guess there are not many people who have not heard of Betfair or any of the other popular exchanges.

You're be surprised - I went to a funeral recently - nobody I spoke to had heard of Betfair, even my cousin an ex-bookie was not sure who they were.

The other issue these days is just about every blog you go to and other such betting sites have these links so it is hard to be the one who gets the kickback.
There must still be money in it though as you have sites like Bet72, odds comparison sites, racing post etc all pushing betting through them.
But go back 8 years or so ago and there wasn't that many people doing it so you stood a much better chance of getting the kickback.
I see the RP are pushing their service of betting through their app which no doubt means they get a kick back.
But all these 'free' sites have to be paid for some how or we would be paying to use them.
But I think the golden days are well and truly over, some people made mega money (some maybe still do) but by the time everyone is on the case the riches are few and far between. I like the rules such as that by the time you hear someone in the pub telling their mate about how they know someone who made a heap of money and that they should try it, it is too late.

Andy, it's commissions NOT kickback. Kickback is something unethical. Whereas, commissions are bonuses for helping people.andyfuller wrote:The other issue these days is just about every blog you go to and other such betting sites have these links so it is hard to be the one who gets the kickback.
