15-40 Tennis Trading Stratergy Automated Guardian Bot

Hi there,

I am new to automation on Betfair using Bet Angel.

So I have applied this rule (I think) to the 154 tennis matches that are before me.

A few questions, I added every player 1 to automation nominated slot 1 and player 2 to every automation nominated slot 2. Do I always have to do this or is there a way to make it auto select player 1 and player 2 for the rule?

Also noting has happened for a fair few minutes now? Does this just alert me, rather than doing the action? I'm not sure it is set up correctly

Currently (Since Jan 1st this year) Betfair are not providing a live score or server feed for mens matches so it will not work on any of those - only womens (WTA) tournaments.
There is also no live feed for the Olympic matches

Its currently been set up so that you need to nominate a player (ie, using stats to find those which this type of strategy is best suited to)
But you can just as easily change who the rule/s are applied to on the 'General' tab and select either player 1, 2 or both, or fav etc

Hello, I downloaded this automation rule and applied to a Wimbledon match where the match is in-play, when the rule is fired I got the following error message in the bet angel log as below. Could anyone please help and let me know what mistake I have done or why am I getting this error ? The rule worked fine in practice mode. Thank you

I am running bet angel from Australia.

I can place bets from the automation and dutching functions via bet angel for horse and greyhound races.

Not sure if it is an access issue on automation on Tennis matches... I have not tried soccer matches yet

You can't bet on most sports inplay from Australia.

Last night I ran another automation rule "Back or Lay Player 2pts Behind on Serve" prior the start of the match and also encountered the same issue as follows.

I guess bet angel is not useful for any sports to be traded in betfair Australia as I don't think we can run any automation rules (achieve the benefit of automation) nor perform any manual trading on any sports in Australia as betfair will reject all these bets during in-play. For example those tennis automation rules would only find bets, base on parameters and conditions, to place during match in-play. And there is not much point of using bet angel at any pre-off sports in Australia as bets can be directly place in betfair or other online bookies.

What other functions we could use in bet angel for any pre-off sports to be traded in betfair Australia ? Or how we could best use of bet angel for any pre-off sports to be traded in betfair Australia ?

Or is there a way around this issue (I can place in-play bets for horse or greyhound races, I guess races are different to sports) ?

I am now 4 weeks (including 2 week trial) into using bet angel and have acquired 1 year of license.... I guess this disadvantage is pretty disappointing for Aussie traders

Only a guess, but I would think most successful traders on here trade mainly pre-off markets. Using Bet Angel to interrogate price, volume and weight of money movements to predict and leverage future direction.

If you're just having one bet then the web interface is fine but when you're trading, the information and features in BA are on another level vs the site. And if you use online bookies the prices are terrible and you can't lay. They're incomparable.

BA doesn't impose any restrictions on the type of bets you can place, that's a restriction imposed by your regional legislators and imposed on Betfair. I doubt many people are disappointed if BA doesn't facilitate bets that contravine your local regulations.

Sounds like a solution but don't think this will work because my bet angel account is still pointing to betfair.com.au which is where the in-play bets are being rejected. Running bet angel from the suggested VPS is more like achieving faster connection to betfair, advantage on getting faster odds refresh and placing bets on best odds etc

I thought about using NordVPN but you still can't get away connecting to betfair.com.au even my IP now is in Panama

If I can't place any in-play bets on sports, that is quite a big disadvantage

If I may have known there is such a restriction then I probably won't have purchased a full year license at one go, will probably try out the software more paying month by month. That's where I am coming from, I am not complaining there is regional rules at my end.

There is no issues on placing bets on in-play races and trading on pre-off races make more sense because you can't chase the odds during in-play races.

On the other hand, there are not much odds movements on pre-off sports, most movements are during in-play where in tennis there is a break in serve, server losing a game etc. whilst in soccer there is a goal, time extension etc, these are the timings where odds moves the most. That is where I am intending to use bet angel automation to find the edge and place the bets.
