Could we all stop with the Spanish Inquisition too
I'm sure it's just people trying to figure out whether they should give you advice or the other way around

Precisely, Jim!

If I did that, then someone would have expected the Spanish Inquisition! And we just can't have that.

But nobody expects the complete absence of the Spanish Inquisition meme!

Am I right in thinking that in practice mode your money is effectively always at the top of the queue too so it doesn't actually reflect real life scenarios where only a few quid gets matched before it darts off the other way?
Practise mode matches about 0.1 sec quicker than real money because you don't have to wait for the trade to reach Betfair and for them to run it through their matching engine.

From memory I think it does roughly estimate a place in the queue, but once it reaches the front it will match in full regardless of whether enough money is available in real life or not.

We get every sort of person turning up. Don't want to be patronising, don't want to be incomprehensible, that's all. 👍

Which reminds me: Tourists are often surprised when they find out how skilled Iberian tattoo artists are

It seems no-one expects the Spanish ink precision

I'll get me coat..........

Day 3 complete, likely less than minimum wage but more fun than cleaning bogs! Got my risk under control a lot more now that I'm getting the hang of the UI.

Is this real money or practise mode?

If it's practise mode then you might be wasting your time. Recommend you move over to real mode, using minimum stakes of course. This should give you an idea as to whether your results are transferrable into the real world.

It was quite fun, it was like trading futures in slow motion, seeing the bids and offers fly in and out and picking them off was good!
Fun was my exact first impression of ladder trading as well, I was very much hooked. Had no trading background but it felt like a rewarding game of ladder Tetris, where I just needed to match the bets in the correct order to win. I had the full Tetris Effect wrecking my sleep at that time as well, that thing where repetitive tasks stick in your brain so much they start seeping into your dreams.

With the right transferable skills it wouldn't surprise me if someone was able to pick this up in a week or two.

I always wondered if anyone else experienced flashing ladders at bedtime. I still get a bit of that now, after four hours on the golf late on a Sunday night, for example. When I started trading, naturally I was watching and thinking about ladders a great deal. When I went to bed, in that strange lucid state between dreams and wakefulness, I would see endless bloody ladders. The only experience I can liken it to is when I’ve been revising for exams and my brain has been working over the material while I tried to sleep.

OP, that looks promising. If you know your way around the software now, try it for real with small stakes. Use the maximum liability feature and set the amount low if you’re worried about an errant click costing you a fortune.
