Hi everyone,

I'm very new to all this and a little unsure on what to ask where in some ways as I don't fully understand / have experience of everything yet. Despite my initial progress being terrible, this software truly looks like something else. I can't imagine trying to get orders in on the standard BF site let alone everything else this software is probably capable of. So I have some newbie questions if anyone wants to try answering them?

Guardian - I watched a video by Peter last night explaining in his columns he has the price of the favourite on any given race (and I think he had some other columns but I can't remember them!). I've had a look to see if I can do this with today's list and I can't find anything for favourites. I can see 'edit custom column' and I thought I might be presented with a list of loads of extras I can chose to display. Also is it possible to filter out races on criteria such as: maiden / number of runners / Novice etc. It's very handy they are listed by code and faster than looking at BF website but wondered if there's ways to try excluding some of the things I'm not very good at yet by default?

Excel - I've seen a few posts of people talking about excel but I thought 'maybe that's for tracking progress', but is it this / more than this / something else? How can we use excel with BA?

Automation - I'm guessing this is the software looking for scenarios and executing them. I think I picked up from the videos that we can download and install certain setups. Is there a basic one anyone can recommend that is relatively low risk for newbies to have a go with? Something popular that lots of people use perhaps? I think in one of Peter's videos he mentioned BA can alert us to significant movement / activity. I'm guessing even by then I'm too late to the party being so new, but thought maybe that is done with automation?

Predicted goals - I could be wrong on my terminology here, but in another thread I saw someone asking about loading up predicted goals / something like that so I thought I would like to try and find anything that helps to get me started with trying it / looking for games where there are certain stats to indicate possibilities.

Thanks for helping me :)

Guardian - viewtopic.php?t=22655
You can filter out items by applying a coupon

Excel - https://www.betangel.com/user-guide/mic ... ation.html

Automation - All samples given on forum are purely that, samples of what is possible to automate and how. If you apply them just blankly across everything you'l lose.
You won't find people sharing their successful ones.

Hi all,

Managed to get the custom columns working yesterday following the link and guidance.

Today I have been installing the predicted goals files. Having finished that I have returned to the horse racing and opening my markets into guardian the columns have all moved. That's easy enough to sort by drag and drop. However the number of runners has disappeared. I suspect this is 'selections' in the custom columns? But when I select it nothing happens. Perhaps I now have too many columns and need to delete one for it to replace? Is this a thing?

Thanks!

You can have as many columns as you want, by the sounds of it you want a set of custom column profile and grid layout profile for football and horse racing, so that you can select between the two depending which you want to trade at that time

If you look at all the examples in the 'Guardian Market List Layout' area you'll see there are often several files for each, the main two you would need are
.gml (this is the file that saves your columns and what's in them in the market list itself)
.gcc (this is the file that saves the custom columns you've created)

Hi Dallas,

Thanks for the reply! :)

I think I've grasped that on the list and the columns (and the other one for automation (.baf). You are correct in what I am wanting to try - a setup for horses and a setup for football (I replied to one of your other threads earlier).

So the issue I'm currently facing today is with the horses - when I installed the list and columns yesterday I could see the number of runners in the race. Today I can't (but everything else is there). I hoped I could just open the edit custom columns and and switch the number of runners back on (assuming it is called selections?) but it doesn't seem to work. Could I delete the file and upload it again?

Think I've fixed it. Re imported the horse racing list file.
Then I think I twigged what you might mean - first I need to select the layout, and then the custom fields. So 'racing info layout' as my list, then 'racing info' as my columns. Once moving to football, find my matches and then do the same?

Yes, that’s it. Each sport needs its own layout and columns. Racing = Racing layout + Racing columns. Football = Football layout + Football columns. Once saved, switching becomes quick.
