Hi everyone,
I'm fairly new to Bet Angel and have been exploring the Guardian feature for automation. I’ve managed to set up some basic automation rules, but I'm struggling with creating more advanced triggers based on live market conditions—for example, triggering a bet only if the odds on a selection have drifted a certain percentage in the last 5 minutes. Is there a way to program this kind of condition directly in Guardian? Or would I need to use Excel integration or a different tool for more dynamic logic? I’d really appreciate any tips or examples from more experienced users. Thanks in advance!
Question About Automation with Guardian in Bet Angel
You can do a lot of that straight in Guardian using stored values. The idea is to have a Set/Modify Stored Value rule record a price or high/low point, then use another rule with a Stored Value condition to test whether the current price is a set percentage away from that stored figure. For example, you can store a runner’s highest traded price and then fire a bet when the current price is within a chosen percentage of that high. You’d set one rule to keep updating the highest price every second and another to trigger if the last traded price is, say, 10% above or below that stored value.

There are loads of ready‑made automation files in the forum’s automation section that show how to implement this, which you can tweak to your own markets. Excel is only needed if you want to do really complex calculations or custom formulas; Guardian’s stored values and signals usually cover most scenarios.
Hope that helps and good luck with your automation.
