1. Run them both at 20ms as a test.
2. Are you using restrict refresh?
Guys I need HELP!
I hope so, I couldn't tell you otherwise though. I'v enever heard of 1x1 and 2x2. I was more of a skateboarding football kid when I was younger lol. Ithink It highlights something though. what I'm doing isnt good enough. its still in early developments and some things aren't setup best I.E. some of my indicators I've just set to rearm every refresh no every second so data can just beomce noise. I'm gana work on it this morning
Get familiar with this

Both machines can't be first, but take this as the reason people will happily share strategy advice, but not strategy detail. You've now seen that another system doing exactly the same thing at the same time will impact on your income and it can vanish overnight...... and also why strategies can work for years and then fade when others adopt a similar approach.
Exactly that. If you have an edge, why would you give that away?ShaunWhite wrote: ↑Fri Aug 08, 2025 10:20 amBoth machines can't be first, but take this as the reason people will happily share strategy advice, but not strategy detail. Yeah pretty wild. a game of... not even half a second ... kind of a worrying thoughShaunWhite wrote: ↑Fri Aug 08, 2025 10:20 amBoth machines can't be first, but take this as the reason people will happily share strategy advice, but not strategy detail. There's such a vast number of ways to trade that there's room for anyone serious to make a buck or two. Just a matter of finding your niche, there's plenty of things that don't come down to raw speed or at least don't die because of a few milliseconds. Tbh that HFT microstructure stuff is an arms race, custom operating systems, sub 1ms pings and responses to info in microseconds so not a game you play with off the shelf software.
One thing I learnt early on by meeting people that suprised me was that everyone does this differently, there's an assumption that there's an A+B=Money method, or just copying someone else will work but you need to find you're own quiet corner where the snow isn't yellow and be the master of it.
Tough though at first, there's no easy lower league games, in every market you're sat next to the best and you need sharp elbows or a cunning plan if you want a kick of the ball. Comes down to market yield, there's maybe only 1% of market vol available as profit after the winners have been paid, and lots of people looking for a piece of it. But thankfully it's a meritocracy rather than getting somewhere by play golf with the boss at weekends so it doable.
I've made a few clver tools now it sjust a case of putting them to use. I've gone from every refresh (as thats not healthy) to 0.2rearms, so that way it can collect steady data and with this be able to stem a comnsistanet level that can me a bit more structured and versatile rather than things in the back ground working at every refresh.. hope it eliminates a few hickups
There will always be somebody who is slightly faster, but very few who are slightly cleverer, if you are prepared to work at it.ShaunWhite wrote: ↑Fri Aug 08, 2025 12:27 pmThere's such a vast number of ways to trade that there's room for anyone serious to make a buck or two. It’s not about being first, it’s about being the first one who’s right.
Well that's my layman's take on George Soros... " the market is often wrong, and it’s not about being early, it’s about recognising when the market will realise it’s wrong"
I'm aware I'm not the sharpest of tools. But I am very determined by character.. I'm very practical smart, not booked smart. However, I've out perfomed 95% off my year group, in current life situations just by showing up and doing more than they ever wanted to. So thanks Euler, good to know there is still a good chance to proceed with this being a part of my future.Euler wrote: ↑Fri Aug 08, 2025 1:50 pmThere will always be somebody who is slightly faster, but very few who are slightly cleverer, if you are prepared to work at it.ShaunWhite wrote: ↑Fri Aug 08, 2025 12:27 pmThere's such a vast number of ways to trade that there's room for anyone serious to make a buck or two. Fills me with confidence. I had a troubled sleep lastnight due to what I found and with such a simple thing can through away an 'edge'. But it just heighlights I need to have a greater edge to over come those types off situations.ShaunWhite wrote: ↑Fri Aug 08, 2025 2:08 pmIt’s not about being first, it’s about being the first one who’s right.

It's not 'Rocket' science ...... you just need a knack for 'Operational Research"Emtaxx wrote: ↑Fri Aug 08, 2025 3:20 pmFills me with confidence.
