Sorry - been away from my desk and only just seen this. The back will always get matched before any lays are placed - that's the way the servant works.
Before you place the lay you need to be as confident as possible that the horse is running badly (or e.g.. jockey has problems with the horse). You then place your bet and watch it closely - as well as for example the second and third favs. If you have any doubts close all and green immediately - don't wait for the bet to come good.
You can do more that one horse but that is adding to your pressure. Chose longer races where you have time to observe wat is going on and keep to shorter priced horses e.g. <4.
That's it - as simple as that. I find this method less stressful than pre-off, having done both. The servant will work on pre-off races although there are other possibilities which -Dallas has posted in the servants section.

Thanks, yes I can now confirm that it only places the back after lay is matched (I must have been imagining things before!).

I've tried it pre race :)

Hi All! I have used this servant a lot. I like the way the back bets spring up as soon as the lay bet has been matched and I have profited on virtually every trade. I suppose it’s the confidence I have in it.

Could somebody help me simplify it a bit? I would like to play with increased stakes and rather than having 6 hedge back bets, after the lay I would like to have just one back bet designed to capture just one tick with a ‘green up’ stake so I don’t have to trade and then green up. I might use it a few times in one race. If one tick is difficult then a percentage of stake would be fine.

I know something like this can be achieved via the global settings but I am very happy and confident using a servant like this.

To my simple mind, looking at the rules this is a pretty complicated thing and having spent a long time trying to work out what to remove or amend I thought I’d better ask for help.

I’d be very grateful for any step by step instructions or even better anybody who would be happy to make these changes to the baf (cheeky request I know.)

Thanks for help I’ve received previously and hopefully now 😀

Hi, as you point out, for a simple offset with greening bet you just use global settings. The servant is only for multiple offsets.

I would still like to have this with a single offset which is why I asked. That in itself would be useful but help educate me so in future I can adapt this bot for a lot of different purposes. As it stands with 6 offsets it is very difficult for me to work out exactly how it works. I need it in a more basic form.

Hope somebody can help. Thanks!

Just use that logic to calculate hedge stake -> 2nd Stake = ( 1st Odd / 2nd Odd ) * 1st Stake
