I was driving from North on the M1. I got to the main junction for Birmingham which is large junction and there must have been an accident. The red crosses were lit up above the lanes to join the junction and there was traffic stationery on the junction. But guess what...there still f***ing idiots stupid enough to try and use the junction. There actions could easily cause a major accident.

Then when you get to Lutterworth there was a long tail back of around 70 cars with people trying to get to Birmingham. However, the junction is in two lanes. One lant to left to Lutterworth and a right lane to go to Market Harborough. All people had to do was use the right lane, go round the fly over and save themselves 10 minutes. Better still you could turn left into Lutterworth on both lanes as the right hand lane has road markings to go left or right. There was a completely unnecessary tail back on the M1 because people can't look at road markings on the floor.

Or even better still for all the people trying to get to Birmingham you can drive up to Leicester and use the main road to Birmingham instead of using all the slow back roads from Lutterworth to Birmingham.

Why are people so stupid? Especially the people trying to join a junction that is clear marked as no entry.

The government has said they are looking at introducing AI on motorways that automatically penalises people for driving in closed lanes or tail gating. The government will make many millions from it.

But I fully agree with the point you're trying to make.

The government should replace the people with AI as soon as humanly possible.

Just Googled it. Smart motorways already detect people driving in closed lanes. £100 fine. Probably paid for Angela Rayners tax avoidance yesterday.
