Not sure how long it's been there, but I spotted a deposit limit button on the Betfair account page.
It now links to this article: -

Deposit Limits allow you to set a personal Deposit Limit which helps you control how much you can deposit in for a set period. This can be daily, weekly, or monthly.
We also have the following company backstops.
Under 25's - £500 per month
Over 25's - GBP 3000 / EUR 3500 per month for all Newly Registered Customers for their first 30 days and GBP 5000 / EUR 6000 per month after their first month.
These limits are set by us for all UK & Irish Customers, unless a personalised limit has been agreed with us, and are referred to as our Default Limit.
Betfair Deposit limits
It had started to show up on my mobile app the last week so don't think has been there long.
I've put in a value that I won't trigger against, think its a good thing to have personally as it then gives clarity on what can go in rather than hitting against an unknown KYC value.

I might be wrong, but I would not assume that staying within this limit will prevent you falling foul of affordability checks. They may well be two very separate limits.ODPaul82 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 30, 2025 4:26 pmIt had started to show up on my mobile app the last week so don't think has been there long.

I wouldn't set it, it makes it look like you don't trust yourself.

I agree with this. Years ago I set an exclusion on exchange games, nothing else, just the games. Slowly over time this has led to an imposed 'exclusion creep' across the entire Betfair portfolio, save for the main Exchange and Sportsbook. Everything else is now barred to me, just because I once excluded from exchange games. Who's to say that one day they won't restrict the main exchange from me too?ShaunWhite wrote: ↑Tue Sep 30, 2025 5:17 pmI wouldn't set it, it makes it look like you don't trust yourself.
Due to this I've never set voluntary limits or exclusions on anything since.
I didn't set the deposit limit either, was worried that if i did, some sort of alert or internal check may be carried out. If i screw up in some way, and lose a big chunk of the bank, i'd rather chat and try to talk to someone at Betfair to see where i stand. Almost a decade now since the last deposit, apart from when i get a new debit card and the old one expires, when i'll just deposit 100, then withdraw it the next day.
Rather than self-excluding from the virtual and casino, i just set a weekly limit of £1. Need to keep the poker wallet in play to keep some of the bank in.
The query i have, is the case where you take a big loss, but still have enough in the bank to build up again without depositing... would a significant loss on its own (maybe some daily or weekly limit) set off a trigger?

I use a direct to bank withdrawal so you don't need a card at all. Click 'withdraw' > 'other methods' > 'bank transfer'. Normally takes about 6 hours to hit my bank.

It may well differ by account, but I've had some big losses, and one enormous loss, and never triggered anything visible to me. Yet I would be scared stiff to deposit £100.

Also got the feeling that if you enter a number then it’ll cause a check on you and your account.
It’s amazing really that if you lose your bank now it’s basically over, no coming back if this is your sole income and you’re limited to £100 per month
