I decided to have a go at this (as I did very well last year on Shaun Ryder!)
I had a fairly big green on Freddie Starr (and found it easy to trade)...when I came home last night I saw my green reduced to about 50! as freddie had been withdrawn due to medical probs..aw well nothing ventured

Anyone having any success??

regards
Peter
PS Be careful dutching/bookmaking as two new contestants are due in soon...so the book price is not wholly true

I haven't done any reality TV trades for a while, there's plenty to get involved with at present though.

I started a thread this week about X Factor. Reality shows can be great sources of income, but due to the TV companies being able to change the rules, or the line ups whenever they wish, you need to tread carefully. I would certainly never dutch these events

Freddie star is still available to lay despite having had to exit the show?

Anybody know who the two new celebrities will be? When they are likely to enter the show?

Sinita and Pat Sharpe. They are already in the camp and will be aired tonight. There is also talk that another will be going in to replace Freddie.

Maybe they'll let him back in if he recovers.

I saw a headline rumouring Jordan and Peter Andre would be in, didn't read it though.

My God this supposedly 'highbrow' forum's going downhill fast ;) What's up next, Kerry Katona re-enters rehab for the 10th time?

Seriously guys I don't know how much you can make from these programs but however much surely it can't be enough to offset the pain of sitting there watching the crap

Save yourselves before you get hooked and your brain turns to total mush - before long you wont be able to trade anything anymore :!:

I'm surprised BF haven't modified the market yet. Sinitta and Pat Sharpe are already in the jungle and in other bookmakers lists, so it's not an agreement with ITV that stops them being added until the show is aired.
Sinitta is 45/1 and Sharpe is 16/1, so the current layers of BF's 97.8% book should see these two take it above 104%

I have to admit I really like this show. Ant and Dec really crack me up.

So aside from taking a position on who will win [subjective] are people 'playing' the market such as the post above where a near 100% book once the two new added will 'guarantee' profit.

Interesting but does strike me as being quite at the whim of the producers who may have all sorts of scripted shocks to keep audiences watching.
