Hi, I only found out today that Betfair has been shut down in Sweden, I live in Sweden but have a UK Betfair account from when I used to live there. I use a VPN and trade on the UK servers. My query was that I am now looking to scale up my trading so that it replaces my daytime job. I will be looking to rent apartments and the like but I would not be able to explain my income as Betfair because Betfair is banned and using a VPN is against Betfair ToS. How could I get around this? Is Betdaq legal in Sweden? Would a VPS help?
Thanks

That's a No for Betdaq.

But they are allowed in Finland - maybe you can get an address in Åland and make it work...?

Tough question to raise on a public forum and hard to generalize, might be better to pay for proper legal advice for your specific use case.

Think you should be fine using a UK account via VPN, but I'd honestly think twice about giving up your taxable income.

Absolutely not Sweden specific, but prepare to become a financial pariah as soon as you give up your traditional income. You need to consider possible future lack of access to credit, phone contracts, betting accounts, financial accounts, housing rentals etc. Think about applying now for facilities you might need in the future while you still have payslips etc to back up an official income. I've still got decent lines of credit open to me, but only because they exist from before I left the rat-race, and I've looked after them very carefully.

Can you pay upfront with savings and say you are looking for work?

Just realized OP posted that query back in July... must have unfortunately gotten buried under spam, hopefully he hasn't given up by now

There has to be a more efficient way of handling new member posts without them sitting in limbo for so long

Or... get a cheap van, live on noodles, then buy a house outright.

I always visit the forum by active topics, so the most current stuff is at the top.

I think many of the forum regulars use the forum this way. But when a new poster posts it only appears in the active topics list once it's been released by admin. Depending how long this takes and how busy the forum has been that day, it can mean it only appears some way down the page, sometimes out of sight, so first-time posts are more likely to get missed.
