Racing delayed significantly at Ludlow. They have had three inspections so far this afternoon. In the meantime they've been busy sanding the bends.

My understanding is no finishers = void race for betting purposes.

Ludlow races 5 and 6 on the hurdle course go ahead. Race 7 that was due on the chase course has been cancelled.

Newbury 14:51, the fav Miller Spirit (finished second) was disqualified for carrying 15lb less weight than scheduled. How these mistakes happen, goodness only knows.

The Clerk of the Scales objected to MILLER SPIRIT (IRE), placed second, ridden by Toby Moore, and trained by Gary & Josh Moore on the grounds of the rider weighing in at 8st 7lb having weighed out at 9st 8lb. The Rider, the Trainer, the Valet and the Clerk of the Scales were interviewed. Moore was fined £1000 as the Trainer’s representative had failed to saddle the horse correctly by failing to add the correct weight cloth to MILLER SPIRIT (IRE). MILLER SPIRIT (IRE) was disqualified and the placings were revised as follows: FIRST – MACARI; SECOND – MUSIC PIECE (IRE); THIRD – FOURONEOHFEVER (IRE); FOURTH – JUST AN HOUR (IRE).

Doncaster 17:03, £6.8k done at 1.01 and 1000 traded for a bob or two on the winner after Lesrico gets back up to beat the Fav in the last 50 yards.

Huge colour mix-up in the Southwell 17:55. The fav, Sturlasson, finished a well-beaten 3rd, but was similar colours and number to the winner. Someone took the price from 1000 to 1.01 near the line with £6k traded at the minimum.

Kelso 14:45. Pile-up at the second last fence. Every horse bar one traded at 2.0 or below. Not something you see every day.

Not been a good one for me. The Kelso race took all my profit for the day so far.

Galway 16:45. 2 lengths ahead with 100 yards to run but gets hauled in at the line. £5.4k done at 1.01.

Wolves 20:30, the FPTP was disqualified behind the 4PTP for interference. I've not seen such a DQ in UK horse racing since I started trading UK horses two years ago.

An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after two incidents of interference turning into the home straight and from approximately 1 furlong out, involving the winner, HINT OF HUMOUR, ridden by William Carson, INVINCIBLE CROWN (IRE), placed second, ridden by James Sullivan, ALONDRA, placed fourth, ridden by Jason Watson and STORM CALL (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Billy Garritty. The Stewards considered that the interference had improved HINT OF HUMOUR’s placing as despite ALONDRA being beaten approximately 1½ lengths, the filly was travelling strongly into the home straight before being turned sideways when severely hampered by HINT OF HUMOR shifting right into its path, resulting in a significant loss of both ground and momentum, which was then further compounded in the home straight, as Watson had been unable to fully ride ALONDRA out for much of the final furlong, due to repeatedly having his ground taken by HINT OF HUMOUR drifting right off a true line. The Stewards revised the placings as follows: 1st- INVINCIBLE CROWN (IRE); 2nd- J STREET; 3rd- ALONDRA; 4th- HINT OF HUMOUR. In the first incident, Carson was suspended for 9 days for careless riding as he maneuvered his mount right-handed off the home bend, when insufficiently clear of ALONDRA, severely hampering that runner, causing it to give a hefty bump to STORM CALL (IRE), which was hampered and in turn gave a significant bump to INVINCIBLE CROWN (IRE), which became unbalanced and was carried wider off its intended line. In the second incident, Carson was suspended for 3 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to hang persistently right-handed without sufficient correction, impeding ALONDRA on several occasions and preventing Watson from being able to ride out fully to the line.
