I do sympathise Peter ... as a pure training instrument they can go in the Academy but to get a bit of advertising from them they need to be in Youtube. I find it amazing that Youtube always treats me as an idiot (no comments please!Euler wrote: ↑Sun Oct 26, 2025 6:52 pmI know how to get videos noticed, but that involves going down BS clickbait route, which I note others have done. But I don't want to do that. Feels like selling your soul.
I'll have to strike a balance: realise videos won't get many views on YT, but use it to add longer, more relevant details on the Academy. That's what I've settled on.

Well I guess it's horses for courses weemac ... I definitely find video my optimal format and written content the most difficult.weemac wrote: ↑Sun Oct 26, 2025 9:11 pmVideo isn't the optimal format for education; good old-fashioned written content is usually best.
But of course no-one would go looking for it, so YT wins out because that's where the music, gaming and funny animals are. 58 million views for a horse farting - that's where the real action is. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KCzwyFHSMdY
Excuse the simple question as this will be my first upgrade attempt. Do I just run the installer and it will retain the couple of files I have previously downloaded or do I need to install them from scratch? I'd rather ask before I attempt to update. Thanks

Just run the installer and everything is there. No harm in backing up your Bet Angel folder beforehand though just in case.
Thank you Jamesjamesedwards wrote: ↑Thu Oct 30, 2025 5:15 pmJust run the installer and everything is there. No harm in backing up your Bet Angel folder beforehand though just in case.
Just a quick thank you.
I requested the In play timing feature about 18 months ago and you have duly delivered. -->> viewtopic.php?t=29573
In the interim I spent many a happy hour creating an SV indicator (using standard times) for 10%, 20% 30% etc for every single race length so that I can automate in play trading using a time indicator.
Kind regards and thanks once again

The ratings will be displayed whenever they are populated by betfair, but no I don't think I've ever seen them populated for Australian racing. It seems to just be UK and some US racing.
When the ratings are available, they can be assigned to a Stored Value, it's called 'the Official Rating of a selection' (about two-thirds down the Stored Value picklist).

I've been playing with the new jump position data at Hereford and Plumpton today. The positions of many hurdles at both tracks today are inaccurate.Bet Angel wrote: ↑Tue Oct 21, 2025 11:09 am
Automation - Stored Values
- TPD Jump information (requires subscription to Total Performance Data)
- The number of jumps ahead/behind of each selection
- The distance in metres to the next jump / from the last jump, for each selection
- Note: Currently jump information is available for the ARC Racing courses offered by TPD
How often are the jump positions updated? Jumps (hurdles especially) move position quite often at most tracks.
We've asked TPD to comment about this as the data comes directly from their API. As far as I know the jump positions come from on-course staff, but I don't know how frequently that information is gathered.jamesedwards wrote: ↑Mon Nov 03, 2025 2:11 pmHow often are the jump positions updated? Thanks. Courses can seemingly change their jump positions at will, and one day can be different to the next. So unless position data is updated daily then accuracy can't be relied upon.Bet Angel wrote: ↑Tue Nov 04, 2025 3:11 pmWe've asked TPD to comment about this as the data comes directly from their API.
