Since the new release of BA i think its time to upgrade my Laptop for a new one. What is a decent Gb of RAM to have to run BA smoothly i was thinking a 8gb machine, or 16 to be on the safe side with other programs i run on the machine

I have been trying out automations on horse racing pre race and in play but up to now i have not found one to be profitable and in some cases to even work. I have also tried quite a few football automations with the same results, Can anyone recommend an automation, football or horse racing, that works and is at least a little profitable. Also why can you not watch live tennis matches when trading tennis and have the score showing, and live horse races when trading horse racing, This being the most expensive trading software around i find it strange for Betangel not to have this.
Theres nothing to stop you watching the BF live video while using the software, just enter the urlCJ22 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 19, 2025 3:38 pmI have been trying out automations on horse racing pre race and in play but up to now i have not found one to be profitable and in some cases to even work. https://video.betfair.com/
However, the Betfair web does site leaks a lot of memory so its better to use an external browser such as MS Edge, Firefox, Chrome etc to connect to the Betfair live video page
Doing that provides much better segregation inside windows and will use your PC's memory and processor more effectively. i.e. The Bet Angel interface will perform better if you don't give the same core of your processor the additional task of handling the Betfair web site.
You can then use a free program called deskpins, that will enable you to use the pop-out Betfair video which you can then pin anywhere you want and always have it on top.
All the example automation files available work 100%, however due to the nature of the Betfair markets and the limited amount of money available at any given time no two people can use the same automation file and expect to make a profit as you'll each be fighting over the same money.
The only exception is if you were to share a profitable file with a close family member or friend and each agree to use half the stake and share half the profit, but if you are going to do this you might as well just run it yourself and just give them 50% of the profits.
The examples are just that, they are intended as a framework to build on, tweak, and demonstrate how/which options to use to achieve a required task
Its up to each individual user to then match up a bot/strategy to the most suited markets and edit accordingly to carve out your owe unique edge

Glancing through your previous posts and your early ideas, it's very unlikely that you will stumble across a secret sauce by just playing with entering and exiting markets at certain predefined times. The Exchange is a very mature ecosystem and you'll find that the hive mind of thousands of traders will make the odds available at any time very accurate. This means that in the long term you can expect to lose by your commission +/- the average spread of your trades.
To win at this game you need to find an edge; some reason why you expect to outperform the average odds and obtain a positive expected value that is greater than your commission and any cost of spread. Examples of an edge could include; inside info, faster info, better info, superior market reading or race reading skills, superior system set-up.
