Seems to be a new thing this weekend, Betfair have been putting cancelled US horse race fixtures into play rather than suspending them. The did the same with Turfway Park yesterday.

Although not the same thing as you've described they have a tendency to settle US race markets without waiting for the results of stewards enquiries, then having to re-settle the market.

They got it right for me in the end, but check your P&L if you were involved. The winning horse Broomfield Gate was moving in and out of non-runner status before the market was eventually closed.
