It didn't go in play initially

Okay, I've missed the start, just watched the final furlongs. It was inplay then but got suspended prematurely.
Never put into play.

13.55 Lingfield not put in play. However i had a closing order with 'take SP' selected; that order did meet the minimum requirements.

However, the market has settled as if it were a bet and ignored SP. It's worked out for me today, but I'm unsettled.

Log says..
"Error occurred while updating bet persistence. Entire order has been rejected".

The only thing i can think of was that i clicked the hedge column to place my closing order, then clicked SP?

Any ideas? Does SP only work if market turns inplay at the off? Because if so, that safety measure is redundant

Betfair didn't suspend the market until near the end of the race. Most likely they will have voided all bets matched between the official off-time and their suspension. I don't know what process they use to calculate SP in this instance. Perhaps this messed with your bets?

That was my first thought. But I've checked the recording, and SP was clicked a final time about 5 seconds before the scheduled start time.

So maybe my laptop is a few seconds behind...Bloody hell. Time set automatically!!! 🤬

Yeah, but presumably the late suspend messes with Betfair's handling of SP bet placement and price. How do Betfair calculate the SP? Does it get retrospectively recalculated before settlement? Probably.

Interesting to here people's view on the new 16lb rule on hcaps, races today seem to be alot more competitive now we dont have the big outsiders and less swings. Is this something we'll have to get used to 🤔

Amazing how often this happens.

I often see no reason for these drifts. I just think the market gets ahead of itself frequently.

Y, I thought it was that classic false patch of ground, but that looks a bit more serious.

Collapsed drain apparently.

So lucky no horse ended up sticking his leg down that.

I had a good result on this pre-off, so was hoping it would go ahead.

The nature of the numbers is that you'll never know if the shorter price or the longer price was correct, or neither when it comes to one runner on one day. The likelihood from the wider stats is that the price it went off at was the closest to true.
