Back or lay

Been trading now for about a month using stakes from £50 to £500. I am not finding it too hard to make small profits and have kept the losses under control. I never trade in running. Would I be correct in thinking that the most succesful traders favour laying as the starting position. It feels that way.

You really shouldn't have a pre-defined preferance for one side or the other. It all depends what is going on elsewhere in the market. If you have a large drifter somewhere else in the market then you should really be looking to back first.
