Dear Community,
I'm just starting out inplay trading and was wondering if a panic button is best to set up with or without greening and best market price with ticks above and below for the quickest exit especially when price jumps fast.
I hope this makes sense.

My personal view is you're better off forgetting about greening up in an in-play horse race. The one second delay coupled with price movement will kill you. You'll always get matched on a loss-making trade and will rarely get matched on a profitable trade.Dangeorge16 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 03, 2026 2:56 pmDear Community,

Try one of the following:
> When placing value trades into the market, use stakes you are comfortable losing in full and let them ride.
> When placing a lay trade into the market, put up a simultaneous back trade at X ticks above.
> When placing a back trade into the market, put up a simultaneous lay trade at X ticks below.

Thank you for your help in the matter. From demo mode so far if your trade goes wrong it doesn't really matter what the rules are as your unlikely to get matched.

Goes without saying really that having no bet is better than a -ev bet. Trading isn't about race totals it's about having 10,000+ bets a year (or per day using some methods). Usual value rules apply.

Morning,
To place an off set bet to close out at 40% of potential profit for inplay trades, is the only way to use ticks sizes? I'm guessing the problem there is that must vary depending on entrance price soi couldn't set up a servant to do this

Sounds like to me you need to clear Gambling out your head and learn to pre horse Trade. Enter the market at strategic point and close at strategic point then Hedge repeat on each market if your strike rate at doing this is good you will see the reward at end of year monthDangeorge16 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 08, 2026 10:17 amMorning,

afternoon all,
Would it be possible to write a servant where the offset bet cant be taken unless the first bet is taken. when the movement is fast it takes the second bet first and turns it into a losing one.

I think you need to have the fill or kill box checked to achieve this.Dangeorge16 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 13, 2026 1:49 pmafternoon all,

Enabling fill/kill will prevent the opposing bet being placed until the opening side is matched (either with a servant, automation rule or regular back/lay bet)Dangeorge16 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 13, 2026 1:49 pmafternoon all,
