Why is this happening?
Recently I've noticed, if I Dutch the Fav, 2nd and 4th, the 3rd horse will win! It's almost like Betfair wants to take all my money (or the traders) or Ai is at play somehow. Of course I just go to a bookie, back the 3rd and it pays but I've noticed that this trend is happening a lot! Why?
You have virtually answered your own question. Firstly the fact that it's 4th fav means that the 3rd fav is entitled to win more often. You say it's a recent trend. There are literally 000s of races each year in the UK / Ireland. 10s of 000s if you count the other countries Betfair covers.Mahadakku wrote: ↑Mon Mar 02, 2026 2:59 amRecently I've noticed, if I Dutch the Fav, 2nd and 4th, the 3rd horse will win! If you do something a lot meaning 000s of times you will encounter variances. Have you done research to establish whether your strategy is profitable?
In my opinion with the introduction of exchanges the markets are now more accurate than before as to the chances of competitors / runners etc.
