Threads like this make me want to have another crack at the dogs. Have never been able to get anything with enough juice for the squeeze, but perhaps it's time to give it another go!

Having never really got on with the horses, I made the dogs my area of specialism. So far, so good, though small stakes relatively speaking.

Built something really simple based on info shared in this thread and have been running it all afternoon on minimum stakes.

Going well so far.

I recently added a minimum volume hurdle to mine and it's performing much better. My average result is still pretty small though.

Appreciate this is going back 8.5 years, but do you happen to remember whether this minimum volume hurdle was market or selection volume?

It's honestly fine, it's a commission churning bot that's actually made a profit over the past few years and adds about £100 a week in comm.

I was balancing markets to smooth gross loss. eg backing HOME in match odds, and backing AWAY/DRAW in double chance. Generated about +£100 pw net of all fees.

Hi

I jumped aboard the Bet Angel gravy train at the start of the year after discovering that the Betfair PC had been scrapped sometime back I was previously a horse racing IR player and prior to that I was an avid greyhound punter, so I've hit the ground running in terms of knowledge but I'm now looking to build some automated strategies, initially focussing on the UK greyhound markets.

I currently have some rudimentary rules which are based on how I trade manually and I think (and hope) that with some ongoing enhancement I can create something that might be profitable . I have freed up some time and intend to get my head down over the next few days and immerse myself in testing, analysing and tuning (along with a suitable amount of shouting and cursing) in an attempt to reach a stage where I can implement a half-decent automated/semi-automated strategy by the start of April (April 1st being an apt date maybe ) and record my results!

Hopefully my endeavour will spark some interest amongst those embarking on the same journey
