I hope that Spurs go down. Not for any schadenfreude, I have nothing against Spurs, but it would make for an interesting story next season and give the Championship lots more focus from the media.

The PGMOL are going to have to properly clamp down on all fouls in the area at corners. The grappling is ruining the game and the only way to stop it is to be clear they will be handing out penalties like water.

Part of the problem is fouls cannot be committed until the ball is in play so they will try anything to gain an advantage ... it then becomes a problem to untangle everything when the kick is taken. As for penalties every one would need VARing!

...holding player's when a corner is being taken goes on all the time - the difference was Cucurellas rugby tackle on Van der Ven was so outrageous and plain for all to see, the referee had to blow for a foul before the corner was taken

I didn't see it so can't really comment but I don't see how the ref could award a penalty for an offense when the ball is not in play and I guess by definition it cannot be considered a goal scoring opportunity!
