Actions Based on Markers

Hi,

I am looking to try and automate a trading idea based on markers, but I've not dabbled with automation much and what I have done before was many years ago, so long forgotten.

The idea would be as simple as, I place a marker on the ladder (which i have already set up working, thanks to a tweaked download from this forum, thanks!) and then if price moves above/below it, a trade is opened

Obviously this is a very basic idea but if I can get that working, I'm hoping i'll be able to figure the rest out from there.

Where do I begin? When you place a marker, does it log this / the position and horse it is placed on etc. so that it can be read elsewhere like a stored value?
Or do I need to build the betting logic into the actual markers, if that makes sense

I know I'll need to do some learning on the basics of automation/servants but there's a lot of content here that i will chip away at over the coming months. For now, just kind of looking to focus on 1 simple idea first and start with what I need to learn, to pull that off. Hopefully then the rest will start to make more sense
