I was trading ACMilan Chievo game last night while watching it on the Bet365 live stream (which I find to be one of the best in terms of video lag). By 20 mins it looked like a stroll for Milan, but after the third goal, the commentator made an interesting comment. He claimed that there is a Gentleman's rule that no team in Italy ever puts more than 5 goals past their opponent. I traded out by HT and left the match, but sure enough the scored remained 4-0 as it was at HT.

I guess this makes the O/U 5.5 & 6.5 markets somewhat redundant in Italian football, or at least look at them in a different way.

Does anyone else have any similar "insider" knowledge?

Italian football is a rule unto itself, especially near the end of the season.

i have to say that you do see teams easing off big style in italian football, when 3 up, it happens everywhere as the games effectively won, bar calamity, but its certainly much more obvious in italian games.
Generally my rule is to approach Italian football with extreme caution.
some games look 0-0 from 5-10 mins played nailed on, others like a goal fest and all at random to the stats.
factor in the regular and occasionally proved fixing scandals and you have a traders/gamblers nightmare unless you are in the know.
