There's some big fields for Derby day tomorrow, and presumably everyone's going to be piling across to that stand-side rail...

First decent photo opportunity for some time.

Plenty of 1.10 - 1.20 available about the far side.

King Charles at the Derby, ah his mother and granny would be proud of him!

I hazard to say it'll be the last Royal seen at a race day outside of Royal Ascot for a long long time.

It was a strange derby market. There was so much uncertainty to it and that seems to kill a bit of the volume. It was really weird to trade.

Read something yesterday about a Derby review and one of the people said it wouldn't be out of season for Christmas Day to win in June, Santa Claus won in 1964. :?

Carnage! The favourite has been declared a non-runner after the race has finished and lots of people have settled already.

Racing shooting itself in the foot once again.

Where was the Stewards Enquiry sign?

Horse had it's leg stuck up on the stalls at the off. But surely it's the horses fault? And assuming the starter is unaware then it should be a runner in my mind.

What about the inplay carnage? Anyone?

Yeah, I was pretty sure the rule wasn't designed to catch those moments. It was more general if they weren't ready. It wasn't if there was a problem in the stalls, because where do you draw the line now? Where do you deem if there was a problem in the stalls?

Also, it's still on such a race, the favorite on one of the biggest races of the year. That's really not very helpful for the industry. Punters are happy, but that's going to wipe out a big chunk of the market.

My in-play activity lost money because of that, but fortunately it wasn't a large amount.
