It does seem to fit the guidance. Have a look at the highlighted section: -

We knew this was probably coming when the rules changed. At least this being such an arse decision on the biggest stage, it might force them to revisit.

Lord Melbourne burst through the stalls in the Epsom 17:20.

Looking forward to this being declared a non-runner...

Colours confusion during the final furlong at Punchestown 17:30.

Dee Bee Zed was the easy winner. Ealu Tapa was 9th.

Derby was a completely avoidable fuck up that could have been avoided with simple operations planning with no expense to any one involved:

1) All horses Loaded and Ready? Handlers put both hands up and Senior Stall Handler in yellow hi-viz jacket puts 1 hand up, good to go

2) All jockeys ready to go? Jockeys ready to go or shout NO, otherwise Senior Jockey Handler in orange hi-viz puts 1 hand up, good to go

3) Clerk of the course sees yellow hi-viz, orange hi-viz, and gives green flag for the official starter to start the race.

4) Race good to go, official starter starts race

Wouldn't cost anything to the owners/trainers/jockeys/punters in flat or AW racing, everyone involved is on-site anyway. It's just a straight forward sequence of events to the start of a race. Yellow/Orange/Green/Go Go Go

Wouldn't work in NH racing though, they can dance around and be facing the moon and the flag drops, run like fuck lads! farmers racing  :P

Congratulations. What type of bot would you have that backs horses at 1000 given every horse bar the winner will trade at 1000 at some point in the race? Plus fallers and pulled up horse in the NH.

Feel free not to tell me....
I've been thinking about this too, and my best guess would be something TPD-based. Perhaps something towards the latter stages of a race that identifies horses trading at a high price point despite the data suggesting they are still in contention?

It's not an angle I've ever bothered to explore. There's so much you can do with TPD.

I've had a small 'back-the-outsider' rule running since this discussion. Not hit a winner yet and currently running -£155. But it came closest so far in the Thirsk 17:20 when my automation backed By Law at 999/1 which went on to trade as low as 7/1 in the run-in.

One day...

Oooooooooo...

Salisbury 15:48, my in-play 'back-the-outsider' automation backed Siddal at 475.0 which went on to trade as low as 2.0, beaten only half a length into 2nd.

Getting closer!
