Watched the Spanish game in an Irish bar in Barcelona, cheering for Cape Verde because Pico Lopez plays in Ireland for Shamrock Rovers.

What was the 0-0 CS at kick off? I was guessing 120+ (huge alcohol influence on my estimation though)

Polymarket confirmed that a punter had cashed out a staggering $4,702,769.23 (£3.5m) on a 0-0 bet @ 10/1

I've started building a trade position on England to "win" the world cup on Betfair. (One of the top 6 teams might falter in the group stages)
Recent "drift" makes it possible.

Not quite in that league but I remember being in Chester races about 20 years back and the women in front of me put £10,000 on the favourite @2/1 It quickly got knocked down to evens. It was a lot of money back then ,and the horse just got pipped at the post after the short run in (he was leading to the last bend) .The irony was that the horse romped home at Newmarket on his next run at odds of 7/1.Some idiot on Polymarket put down a $1m on Spain to win.

Funny old game.

Spent much of the 2nd half there with a rather sick feeling in the stomach.
This morning a pal said to me "That was some win for England last night.....5-3 against Croatia." After some head scratching we established that the game's tonight, but he was so puzzled by it all that I said I'd be an idiot not to back a quid or two at crazy odds.
The 5-2 score-line was 350/1, but 5-3 wasn't even listed on BF. I did see over 7.5 goals was 160/1, but then just thought this is silly, so did nothing.
60 mins played and the over 7.5 goals was trading at 4.5 and 5-2 score was in the mid teens...........it's a ghastly feeling when something like this seems to be happening before your very eyes.
