Volumes on Betfair were slightly down on last year but slightly up on BetDaq so I'd say generally neutral. Not enough to read anything into.
As someone who's traded big meetings on Betdaq for many years it doesn't feel like volumes are improving. It used to be very easy to follow the Betfair price around offering a slightly worse price, and there was enough interest that you got matched regularly. It's very different now. There seems to be so little retail or bookmaker money coming into the market. Their markets have always had bots but it feels more and more like these are making up most of the market. The volume data may say differently but liquidity isn't what it used to be.

In the big race of the day, somebody was really trying to get rid of a lot of liability on Scandinavia. You could feel the price getting pulled in consistently.

A great day for my TPD automation today, driven partially by it confidently picking out Earth Shot @ 10s just over a furlong out.

Ended up +127% vs last year for the day, and now +36% for the week so far.

James, is there a particular automation file you are using to pick out runners whose speed is increasing in the latter part of the race? Thanks in advance

Well done, it hasn't been easy this year.

Big decline in turnover YoY yesterday again, but it's fairly universal across online and the betting ring by all accounts.

No particular template file, it's all self-built with multiple variables built and tweaked through years of trial and error.

Dallas has posted numerous TPD templates though, this one would be a good place to get you started.
