Cant believe racing has gone ahead today.and it looks like the same tomorrow.Should get the arseh0les who made the decision to run round the courses instead of the horses.

It's only forecasted a max of 30 degrees during racing at Nottingham and Newmarket today. And a max of 25 degrees at Newcastle, and Hamilton and Leicester.

Don't forget thoroughbred horses are bred from the Darley Arabian which originated in the middle-east where 30 degrees is the average temperature, not the high.

Racing is cancelled if due to go ahead in or near a red alert area, or brought forward to the morning if in amber. Worcester, Salisbury, Kempton, and Ffos Las was cancelled yesterday, and Nottingham and Newmarket brought forward this morning, due to this.

And the human race originated in Africa but some people still find it a bit warm here sometimes.

Either way they should just err on the safe side, and courses ought to have water spray areas for horses that have run, a lad throwing a bucket of water on them is a bit half arsed if cooling is necessary. Half a dozen hoses on some scaffolding isn't different or expensive.

Good idea!

The jockeys would enjoy it as well!
