All of a sudden my account is showing a considerable, NAY MASSIVE, difference with the balance.
Everything was fine around 6am, and because I had to go to work I wasn't at my computer but logged in with my phone at 1pm only to find the balance was a HUGE loss today. I managed to get online with a computer and there are no outstanding bets, I've checked every trade placed and there are no issues I can see, in fact all bets today have made a profit.
Has anyone else had issues with their balances being completely and utterly different to what it should be?

Check through your account statement. You will be able to see in the running totals where the change occurred and the cause.paspuggie48 wrote: βTue Jul 14, 2026 2:31 pmAll of a sudden my account is showing a considerable, NAY MASSIVE, difference with the balance.

If the money was withdrawn to a different card, not in your name or address, then they can easily reverse it.

Agree wearthefoxhat, the few successful withdrawals I've made in 3 years are direct to my bank account and literally 1/10th of what was withdrawn earlier. I recall a thread saying large withdrawals raise flags, so I'd assume it falls into that category and they stopped the payment at source, albeit I didn't have any comms to say so and I'm waiting a response from the Security Team.wearthefoxhat wrote: βTue Jul 14, 2026 6:34 pmIf the money was withdrawn to a different card, not in your name or address, then they can easily reverse it.
Although hackers are smart I'm sure the Betfair Security Team will realise it's not a transfer to the same bank account which I have had been registered on BF since day dot. I mean, surely they would think it fishy it's a different bank account all of a sudden, which would require them to verify in that instance ? Plus, all my transfers have been during the day too but this one was at 01:24am...with all the will in the world I've not been up that late since I was boogeying the nightclubs in the late 80s
Fingers crossed anyway
BetAngel Team; if you read this; I was not logged on to the BF website on my local PC, the only BA program open was on the VPS overnight, so not sure if there are other incidents ?

My next question is, did they apply the same rules and instructions to the person/people who fraudulently extracted my money
Did you not have 2 step auth? I don't see it mentioned anywhere.
Check bet history and all those other things and get as much data as you possibly can. Check for current exposure, as that may show a bet outstanding.

Also, as others have said, do you have TFA enabled?

Absolutely, always check your betting history, exposure, and last 10 login IPs first if you suspect a breach.
Hackers are known to use the entire balance to back a very low price right before attempting a withdrawal. This happened to a friend not too long ago because he somehow still didn't have two-step auth set up. Luckily, he got his money back iirc.
It's very easy to set up 2FA, an absolute must for anyone who still doesn't have this mandatory protection active : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8x76Zet62Is
