The jockey had the whip in the wrong hand. That probably really didn't help his case.

That shouldn't be part of any demotion consideration. The decision should be purely based on whether the Stewards can be sure that the impeded horse would have beaten the offender if not for the interference. Whip in hand should only be relevant to the jockey sanction part of the enquiry.

Ripon 20:10 on Monday. This isn't pocket talking, because this DQ made me a good few bob. But I've just seen the head-on for the first time and can't believe the winner was DQd for this. How can that possibly be justified?

First at Goodwood just now was significantly worse than yesterday.

Will be interesting to see what the Stewards do here.
