A lot of it doesn't really make sense does it?

The outcry of the Aguero moment is tainted why? there was no FFP in 2012

The panels findings don't make sense, Sheikh Mansour knew nothing about the disguised funding, I mean I know he's rich but come on sure hes going to notice a billion quid missing

The panel have City down as getting £16m from Abu Dhabi sponsors in 2012 but only getting £12m in 2018, City were getting less with Pep at the helm and after all the trophies they had won, again makes no sense.

Arsenal were getting £42 million a season from Emirates for shirt/ground sponsor in 2004, City were getting £40m a season from Etihad in 2009 for the same plus also the training ground named, was it really inflated
It seems the period under question is 2009 - 2018.

Within this period, each year, MC increased spending on big signings, knowingly racking up losses, when around the same time, the rules changed.

To get around the new rules, they misreported the losses. The new rules allowed losses of 100 million, which matched MC reported losses, but there was £60 million+ purposely not reported. This was repeated year on year.

This creative accounting went on until MC established a strong player base and a strong foothold in the Champions league. From 2018, they have kept within the rules, thinking they've gotten away with and now no other club, ie: Newcastle can match the 09-18 period.

The main thrust is, that it's fraudulent and unfair to other clubs that cannot do the same without breaking the rules.

Arguably, those running the club, could be seen as not fit and proper, because of the fraud, and the independent commission could take the club from them if they stubbornly remain, and sell it on.

Reckon, the resulting sanction(s) will be swift, subject to appeal.

Either way, the club is left with a points deductions (likely relegation), big fines to pay, along with a transfer embargo, and any other club that wants to sue them.

It's a real shit-show for sure.
Yes the period in Question is 09-18, for a title to be stripped/tainted a sporting advantage would have to be gained, as there was no FFP in place till 2013 anybody could have funded the club be that Sheikh Mansour, me, you or the corner shop. Aguero title can and never will be stripped.

That's their 2027/28 sponsorship sorted...

---

I wouldn't want to strip them of their titles, but in sporting terms, it's been done before in other disciplines.

Once UAE/MC thought they'd found a way around the "rules" they kept going. Small enough in the years, 08-12, then went for it big style, after UEFA lost their own case on appeal.

Reckon the reason it's taken so long to get to this stage, is that they had to be 100% clear on the facts, that on appeal, would be in vain.

City should offer a blood sacrifice of someone in the boardroom - banned from football for life, maybe jail too - but for taking the fall, their family/families get lifetime free travel on Etihad :)
