'[A report] suggested that the cost of equality was somewhere like £150 million in the service sector, £35 million in manufacturing and, worst of all, £210 million across small and medium-sized businesses.'

Did Harriet Harman's Equality Act save Britain £65 million?

don't you just love champagne socialists.
The fees for St Paul's Girls' School are currently £5,842-£6,280 per term.Harman attended a fee-paying public school, St Paul's Girls' School and then the University of York, where she gained a BA in Politics.

And didn't she arrange for her husband to be allowed to join a women-only MP candidate shortlist?
She's nothing if not full of contradictions...
And on the topic of hypocrisy, don't even get me started on John 'Two Jags' Prescott preaching on environmental issues!

you want contadictions and blatant sex discrimination from harriet harperson, what about her proposal being considered by labour that in the party leadership the leader and deputy, one must be a woman. So both can be women, but not both can be men...Hypocrite
From Wikipedia:
'On 15 March 2006, in the Cash for Peerages scandal, Dromey spoke of not being aware, despite being party treasurer, of £3.5 million worth of loans made to the Labour Party in 2005 by three individuals who were subsequently nominated for life peerages (Chai Patel, Sir David Garrard and Barry Townsley).
...
Dromey was caught up in further financial scandals in 2007 as he was responsible for party finances, which included more than £630,000 in illegal donations from David Abrahams. Dromey again claimed to know nothing of the donations.'
Sounds plausible - a treasurer cannot be expected to know about every little transaction that's made...

why would any self-respecting man marry a feminist?
it beats me.
it beats me.

There's feminism and there's feminism though...
I'm guessing that I believe in universal sufferage, so that extent even you're a feminist!
As regards marrying a feminist, though, you're restricting yourself a bit, as most women regard themselves as feminists these days!
If I had a partner, I'd be fine with her being a feminist, providing she didn't have a chip on her shoulder, and didn't mind me pointing out the folly of her thoughts!
As an aside, my latest Plenty of Fish ad actually carried the following warning:
'I am a critical, unconventional thinker. I question mainstream views and ways of doing things, and am not afraid of expressing un-PC views'.
Best to get these things out in the open from the start, to avoid wasting anyone's time!
My latest ad was actually a list of reasons why someone wouldn't want me as a boyfriend. I figured that that might be a good way to weed out all the people who were unsuitable for me, and avoid wasting their time and mine!
I'm actually no longer on the site, after I clicked on my landlady's ad (thinking 'Nah, it can't be her!'), and then deleted my account ASAP to avoid her finding out!

that POF anecdote is very funny.
re feminists i was referring to the activist variety. equal rights is fine by me but i believe in meritocracy and oppose any kind of positive discrimination.

im a masculinist...
any man with children and who is divorced, knows where the seat of power lies, thanks to our courts, and its a few inches below a womans belly button.
no such thing as equality....
men of the world, stand up for yourselves...
actually thats not the world just Uk and usa mainly...
happy punting
