Couldn't see an appropriate post; so thought I would start one!

Happy New Year everyone :D

Thanks for all the support during the year (and the hidden nuggets in various posts!). Its great being able to share info and opinions with like minded people.

I haven't included my December figures yet, but I dont think i'll be far off doubling my 2010 P&L (x1.87). Interesting enough there was no correlation between my best months and 2010 and 2011, Feb 2011 was by far my best month this year (unbeliveably almost 5x what I have done this month), yet it was second to last in 2010. I think it was due to XM that kicked in in nov 2010 and brought me cracking figures for a good six months or so.I took advantage of it where I could, but seemed to have slowed down since the beginning of Sept 2011.

Not a pessimist by nature but would be very happy to earn just half what I earned this year.

Be interesting to hear how the full timers have done this year in comparison with last?

Anyway Happy New Year Folks! Hope you make your fortunes in 2012 and fill ya boots!! (Assuming that betfair is still trading that is and haven't introduced PC4!) :D

Regards
Peter

PS Thanks to Tony and the guys in support too

You too Peter!

And thanks to everyone who has given me advice and support over the past year (I won't mention names in case I embarrass anyone or, worse still, miss anyone out!). :)

Badly Peter!

My earnings are down by 28% in 2011!

XM, PC, 2 heavy hits during outages, and markets being more stagnant than before (maybe due to recession, or traders leaving BF)

Anyway, my earnings are still above the average national wage, so I'm just going have to ride the storm because I'm very pessimistic about my job prospects currently.

I've enjoyed it less this year though. My optimism has been dampened, and full-time trading has become a chore rather than a pleasure in 2011. Hopefully, I'll get off to a flyer with the Australian Open in 2 weeks time

Ive had an up and down 2011,
but in the end i have more or less equaled my 2010 results.

My activities have had to evolve quite abit during the last year or so, the cross matching took a while to get used to and i had a few slow months cos of it and the mental problems it seem to give me.

and then there was the the bombshell of PC 3 (not really a suprise though) this made me consious of the fact you should not see betfair a something that will be around forever and to persue other activites as well.

As a result i rarely trade horses now, but have scale up on football wich seems to have been a great decision, more free time and equal profits

So a happy new year everyone and cheers :D

May I wish everyone a very Happy New Year, filled with love, good health and happiness for you and your families.

At this time of year I always find myself reflecting on my life. I usually have a tear in my eye once I realise just how lucky I am to be healthy and to be able to do something I love, and I am quite good at

Special thanks to Peter and his team, for continuing to innovate & provide us with the amazing tool that is BA.

All the best guys
Steve

I can’t really compare year on year being a part-time means trade whenever get a chance but this year has been much better than last especially last 3-4 months to a point where I’ve managed to scale up even in these slightly choppier markets. This can only bode well for 2012 and I’m looking forward to it.

Happy New Year everybody.

For me it was a consolidation year, I'm on the steep part of the learning curve, sometimes I can get surprised with something I've missed for way too long. In terms of P&L I've broke my best month for 5 months in a row (bloody December and Christmas!!), my best week, my best day, my best winning streak but unfortunately not my best total in one market. I think I need to work my discipline in some situations, as well taking bigger risk in to the market without 'feeling it'.

I'm looking forward to 2012, that is surely going to be the biggest year since 2008 ;)

Good luck to all whatever you are doing.
