I am a pre-race trader and with a Polish partner, we are looking to buy a flat in Krakow this year.
I have no idea as to the reliability or speed of the internet in Poland. I would be interested to hear the experiences from anyone who has traded from Poland, particularly with regards to reliability and availability of 3g. Thanks
judging by todays efforts its probably Betfairs reliability I should be worried about!!
Trading from Poland
In Krakow You will find lots of quality internet connections available, no problem with 3g too. I live in a small town and use 6M landline internet connection and 3g for many years with no particular issues. In Krakow it'll be clear sailing.
Cheers!
Cheers!
Thanks Krysztof. I had seen you post here in the past and guessed from you name that you might be Polish!!
I would be curious as to your view of Polands current economic position. You seemed to be doing quite well, none of the huge national debt that we have etc. However talking to Anias family, they don't seem to sense a great improvement in standard of living in recent years which suprised me?

Actually we doubled our national debt in last 4 years or so. In recent years there was an improvement but it wasn't great for sure. Let the answer be our shameful official minimum wage which is 1500 PLN gross it equals 300 GBP and it is per month
and we have greater prices of basic things like food, clothes etc. than in UK, real shame.

Thats interesting, its exactly what Ania has experienced.
I am not sure how the economic cycle can keep working with high prices and low wages, there must be a sector of well paid workers who are proping this up. I wonder if Poland is in a transitional period, low wages from the "old" Poland with high prices coming in from surrounding Europe. The minimum wage is definately an issue. I know a guy who works for lastminute.com complaints dept.near Krakow. He can barely afford to live on his wage after he has paid his bills.
