Hi all,

How easy do you think it would be watch a sport live and trade it while you are there from your iPhone or iPad. There must be people that do this on all sorts of different markets! Anyone have any experience of this?

Im thinking about giving this a try at a football match. Get a box for the game and see what can be achieved.

with the long delay in placing bets plus bf's immediate suspension I don't see how it will make any difference.

Is there still a delay through bet angel of 8 seconds?

met a swedish guy, who claimed to make money
pitchsiding.
he was using unmanaged markets.
not really convinced, as there would be time and travel
and by their very definition would expect these markets
to be very low liquidity.

Good post from Peter there. I tend to trade the snooker and people are definitely doing this here. It's not a big problem as a 5 second delay gives you plenty of time to get out of the way, as it were. But it definitely looks as though it gives you quite a big advantage. That's always going to be the way with in-play trading though I guess!

I think one of the reasons Tennis has been particularly targeted isn't just due to liquidity, it's also because every market in unmanaged. BF only suspend once the match is over.

This doesn't happen with most 'in play' football markets, so you're not only trying to clock beat the punters once a goal is scored, you're trying to beat BF too before they suspend the market

great thread and lost of points of view,

with footy I have found just watching the game and being defensive seems to work out quite well. Tennis I know little about so one to study for the future, taking on board Peters remarks about courtsiding and how to exploit the way the odds can move, But I really must buy a tv first...

Yes, with snooker also, the fact that the markets are unmanaged provides a good opportunity for 'court siding'. Tennis markets generally have greater liquidity but there is no shortage of money in the snooker and you often get very dramatic odds movements!
