How do you turn off the Place Bet sound?

if i go into Edit Settings > Sound Alerts and uncheck the Active box for the Placing Bet Alert sound, and save it, it makes no difference - it still beeps when i place a bet (on the ladder).

i don't want to turn off all sounds, just the placing bet beep...

I once used a mate's laptop and it beeped so loud when I placed a bet I almost **** myself!

Sadly I don't know how to turn it off mate!

Goto the settings menu (the spanner) then click on sound alerts. You can have either a wav file or a beep when a bet is placed on niether or neither.

Older versions of BA were painful when using laptops, I ended up muting mine, but it's now been rectified. I'm not sure how you turn it off though. I've just tried and you're right, just unticking one aspect doesn't make any difference, unless you untick them all.

I don't know how many of us changed the sounds, but not plenty I guess, so that makes Peter's voice known to exhaustion. My all family knows it already

Listening to these messages countless times during the day must have an impact. Like you Letiss I had dreams with it.

I had dreams where I could trade and suspend the markets at my will, making loads of cash in the process. Of course Peter's voice sounded like a beat box

this is what my sound alert settings are but it still beeps when i place a bet...

edit: this is on a desktop machine.
