Innertube-

I'm quite a tolerant, laid-back guy.

I can even put up with a bit of sarcasm; I thought that perhaps Payuppal was trying to be humerous, rather than offensive.

But I resent the implication that I'm racist. It's a cheap shot, and I want nothing to do with people who use such tactics, rather than sticking to the facts.

Surely you are aware that characterising the incident as being about 'political correctness' is the tactic widely employed by racists?

It's not; it's about racism and you should take it seriously.

Am I missing something here?
People talk about the fact that Suarez was right not to shake hands as Evra had lied and got him in trouble. Did Suarez not admit to what he said?

And surely whatever the reality and how wronged you may feel, you need to look at the bigger picture and rise above it - be the bigger man. What could have drawn a line under the whole issue has inflamed it further. Suarez coud at least have come ouyt of this with some dignity - now that chance has gone.

What ever its about, Evra showed again at the end what type of a character he is, as he did when walking out on his country. I would say he is definately a person that seems to attract trouble.

Meanwhile, it looks like Chelsea are totally out of contention for the league and could be risking missing out on a champions league place! Suprised to see them lose again today.

Totally correct, this is a snapshot from the opening handshakes.

For all you idiots out there who think Evra is the victim here, watch this youtube video...just posted.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=80Oed8OT4vw

See the real evidence that Evra is the aggressor... trouble maker.

How can anyone still defend Evra...

Pdupre-

Completely agree.

So it seems Evra decided to stir up some trouble at the start and at the end of the end of the game. He behaved selfishly and stupidly, risking causing crowd trouble to pursue a private dispute. But I bet he doesn't get banned for a single game...

I hope Fergie apologises for calling for Suarez never to be allowed to play for Liverpool again (and that the BBC apologises to Suarez for giving the impression that he'd snubbed Evra).

More evidence that Evra is a liar...

I can't believe the MOTD crew are so blind... and the rest of the media.

I think what may have happened is that neither Evra nor Suarez wanted to fully commit to the handshake in case it wasn't reciprocated, and as a result the opportunity was missed.

But the BBC's coverage was sadly as unbalanced as it was predictable, portraying Evra as an innocent victim.

Incidentally, Evra has admitted that, in the first incident between the players, he'd insulted Suarez based on the fact that he's from South America. Yet because that doesn't fall under the banner of racism, Evra got off Scot free, whereas Suarez got banned for 8 matches. Can someone please explain to me where the justice is in that? A personal insult is a personal insult, whether it's directed at the colour of your skin or the part of the world you come from...

Exactly right....

It's funny how Man Utd's captain comes across as a victim, when Chelsea's captain is the villain.

When, in truth they're both just playing the game. Banter is part of the game. Inventing racism when there is none is disrespectful.

However, now that Evra has made up these lies to the French media, he would look bad to say as such.

Now, having watched the evidence - I can see that Suarez wanted to just stay away from any trouble. Whereas, it's clear to anyone that Evra was trying to stir up bad feelings.

Evra needs to be punished...8 games minimum.

By the way, where are all the black referees in English Football. If anything it's the FA that are racists.

Its also interesting to note this is the 3rd acquisation by evra in the past 4 years of which previously previously proved false or at least not proven. Whilst its impossible to fully know what has been whispered under the breath it definately seems like evra is just constantly bullied or he likes to play a certain card when he gets wound up.

What is wrong with the guy 3 accusations in 4 years....

He must be insane - to see life completely different from everyone else. Even with the video evidence he still appears to prolific-ate the lies.

It's should be clear to any intelligent person that Luis Suarez wants nothing to do with his attempts to prevaricate him.

Dalglish told the Sky Reporter that he was 'out of order' - yet that has been cut from the coverage of most of the after game interviews.

On another point - there seems to be a mistake on wikipedia - no way is Patrice Evra 5ft 9in. He's about 5ft 4in surely.

Cameron 'plans football racism summit' - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-17001503

What's the point?!?

Racism is almost non-existent in the British game! And I'm suspicious of the timing of the announcement...
