With Binocular winning easily yesterday has he put himself back into the picture for the Champion Hurdle?

The win was effortless yesterday and he was not extended. Stopwatch punters will say the time was only 0.5 seconds quicker than the opening Novice Hurdle over the same trip. If you look at that race you will see the winner had to work very hard whereas Binocular never came off the bridle.

After Binocular won the Champion Hurdle he went on a steady decline and I had him about 10lbs below his best. We all know about the illegal substance that saw him miss last year's race and that this horse is quirky when it comes to getting him ready at or near his peak.

His huge advantage is his super fast jumping of the hurdles which is just sublime to watch. If he's near his best he'll give Hurricane Fly a good race but will he be good enough to beat him?

What are your thoughts?
