Just watched the first race from Southwell. How Matt Chapman has managed to get a job commentating on live races is beyond me. Hope anyone that plays in running doesn't rely on the commentary could be expensive. The man is useless!!!

Worst man on racing tv. If you get a chance pop into a coral shop and listen to his greyhound commentary, it is embarrassing.

Someone write to ATR i heard for the first time today, its awfull, at the end of the races have to turn the tv down my word how did they let him lose on that John mcerick would be better

when he used to step in with commentary when they lost the sound to the course he wasn't too bad (given that he was doing it from the booth) and quite entertaining. but now he's doing it for real it's horrible - he seems to have adopted a style of commentary that is just annoying (i don't care who the trainer is in the middle of a race!). it makes you realise just how good most of the established commentators are - 'not an easy job and a real skill.
