Can someone help, when i log in now to live mode on version is 130 (latest) the prices lag badly am getting 30+ dowmload speed from BT infinity, when i log on in Practice mode the prices move fast, i cannot trade with lagging prices a recipe to get a large loss, i havnt been able to trade for several days because of this, as one of my rules is not to trade with dodgy API or software faults. :x

We have not had any specific reports of issues.

There is very little different between practice and live mode other than the bet matching process is carried out locally rather than at Betfair's end. So there must be something a bit odd creating this issue. We can't see any difference if we switch between live or practice mode.

Go to the settings area, take a note of your comms settings and drop a note to support and we will see if we can forensically pick apart what is causing the problem.

Everybody should be aware Betfair force us to default the application to sub optimal performance on first install, so you should always try to improve on the default settings.

Post up your comms settings here and I'll see if there is anything that I can immediately suggest.

Thanks
A lot for your assistance, I don’t know how to post the comms bit up on the forum but it reads the following
Connection tuner is set on 3 bars from left
Data requests = 15
Matched & unmatched bets = 350 MS P&L the same

BA connection smoothing = Medium

Hope this makes sence

OK, data requests are too low, you need to set these to 20 per seconds, the max allowed.

Connection tuner is probably a bit low as well, try widening that to 5-10.

If data requests are too low and you look like you are going to exceed them Bet Angel will buffer the call and hold it over to the next second, that may be why you feel like it is stalling now and again.

The smoothing is a personal preference but I have it off, but it will often 'feel' better on full.

Hi
I would be a little cautious running it at 20 all day (depends on your activity), but you could still end up incurring small charges...check out :-

http://www.betangel.com/knowledge-base/ ... ge-charges

Might be worthwhile trying it at 19 ??

Pretty sure commission offsets data charges? If so you should be able to exceed the call limit without incurring charges if you pay enough comission.

Yep it does ( Mine is always over 20 ) but I dont incur any charges due to commissions. If however, alpha is only a light user he may see some charges
